Book Review - The Manic Panic

Book Review - The Manic Panic

The Manic Panic is a children's picture book illustrated by Mithila Ananth, written by Richa Jha and published by Richa's Pickle Yolk Books.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

We all love our smart phones. Admit it. You would be lost without your phone/tab and your data/wifi connection (unless you are that super Zen person who refuses to bow down to the slavery imposed by tech devices, in which case, we bow down to you).

And now, with the advent of cheap smart phones, everyone has one. EVERY ONE. And our parents - who were hitherto low tech, are all of a sudden always on Whatsapp and Facebook!

The Manic Panic features a regular(!) house where the parents are addicted to their tab/phone/laptop for every single little thing. Alas, the Wi-fi connection is down leaving everyone bereft. Everyone, except a little girl and her very cool and zen grandmother.

In a zany story of role reversal, it is up to the girl now to deliver her parents from the clutches of technology and show them that there is so much more to the world that just their screens!

With hilarious illustrations centered around the strong grip that technology has on us mere mortals, The Manic Panic makes us crack a smile, then laugh, but then a little later, it also makes us think about what really is important, the real world around us or the world inside the screens that we hold in our hands!
